From the Juan Santamaria Airport, you'll be transferred to a very comfortable and prosperous Quinta in the San Carlos region of Costa Rica. In this context a quinta means an estate or manor in the countryside and a commercial enterprise - its kind of like a home business. After the 90 minute drive in an air-conditioned Coaster, you might want to take a swim in the pool to freshen up. Bienvenidos cocktail and meeting with the animators - Suzy and Lawrence - and do meet our tourbus driver for the duration (and other relevant staff). Group introductions. A jungle story. An overview of the week and its objectives. Global thoughts, a few rules of the jungle and a bit of advice, intended to make this a great experience and an outstanding training week.
Begin the second day with a leisurely 2-hour trek through the Quinta with Suzy and a guide. They'll help you see the f the trees in spite of the forest, as you're intoduced to thousands of species of flora and fauna in the jungle and in the gardens; this Quinta exports plants and "heart of palm" to the world market. After the stimulating walk, you might want a swim before the next activity. Before lunch, in the gardens, learn though a game called "Lost in the jungle"; it demonstrates "the effect paradigm" in group dynamics better than anyhting. Later Lawrence will animate a «Lesson from the jungle…» that explains how creativity is limited by personal neurological paradigms, and what we can do about it.
This fascinating third day will end by seeing a live volcano spew its fire.. But let's start at the beginning: In the early AM Suzy will teach a series of body/mind exercizes to help alleviate "the effect of paradigm", and then Lawrence will lead a seminar on change management. In the early afternoon we'll move near the small town of La Fortuna, to the Hot Springs where Suzy and Lawrence will animate a discussion on brain/mind, focusing on whole-brain learning. You'll have discovered brilliant tools ans we can soak and discuss how they can be used. A spa activity will help explain how strees and creativity are antipodes. In the early evening you'll trek to the base of Arenal Volcano to feel the ground tremble; when it roars and spits you'll understand the stimulus>reaction cycle in brainmind and discovers ideas about the "fight of flight syndrome", "stress paradigms" and "inner power". By the day's end you'll have learned that Nature manages itself by considering three organic regimes called choas, transition and order.
These three towns each have an entrepreneurial story to tell. They exemplify the creative spirit that sparks most Costa Ricans. Here nature rules and you learn that when the climate changes, you adapt quickly or die. Great places to learn nature's slant on motivation and self-actualization. Visit a volcano in a cloudforest reserve that's unique in dimension and configuration: It has two craters. We'll start early, before the clouds settle in. stand at the crater's edge to taste its sulphur fumes - imagine the beginings of a new idea. Then trek through the cloudforest to the second crater which is filled with emerald-tinted sulphuric acid - the primordial soup representing the depths from creation emerges. At the interpretation center, after learning about the ecology and history of this still active fire-breather, we'll animate how Nature creates, and why only .001% her creation survives. We'll see whererwisdom fits into her overall plan. On the bus you'll be presented with syntheses on innovation to be discussed; this mobile class will answer everything you've ever wanted or needed to know on the subject. Before breakfast, Suzy will lead a "power walk" in the jungle ending on the beach. Greet the day when life switches from the night to light shifts, from instinct to consciousness - it's quite a show! After, Lawrence and Suzy animate the 4th lesson; this is a fascinating session that demystifies personal power and empowerment according to Nature's rule. The required Q&A session will follow, in the gardens by the pool; in the digital age, there is no limit to adding value to your creative capital. After dark, after supper, back at the Lodge, a short presentation will reveal Nature's ultimate secret. This modest presentation packs a lot of WOW.
Suzy will recap what you've learned through all your experiences and classes. Only time left to pack your bags, finish your lunch and bid the jungle a fond farewell.
